The Toronto Blue Jays seem quite disappointed with former ace pitcher Kevin Gausman as they need him more from him if they plan on winning.

The Blue Jays starting rotation has been struggling this season especially since they have only been four pitchers but the biggest problem has been consistency since they will have great games followed by horrible ones.

Gausman started off the season on fire as he had a 2.49 ERA in his first four starts which many thought meant that last year was nothing but a fluke but it basically went downhill from there.
One of those improvements comes from an unlikely source in Kevin Gausman, arguably the ace of the starting rotation. The two-time All-Star began the season on a pretty solid note as usual, posting a 2.49 ERA over his first four starts covering 27.1 innings pitched, while striking out 20 batters and walking just three. Since then, however, his numbers are going in the wrong direction, and that spells big trouble for a team that relies so heavily on the veterans that make up their rotation, led by Gausman. -Henderson

Since his fourth game of the season, Gausman's ERA has jumped up from 2.49 up to 4.59 in his last 9 starts which is far from what they expect from the ace of the starting rotation.
Since April 20th, Gausman has seen his ERA jump from 2.49 to the current mark of 4.59 over nine starts covering 51.0 innings. He's struggled to find that early-season form in four of his last five starts, and that downward trend was punctuated on May 15 when he gave up six runs over 5.1 innings against the Rays, including three home runs. -Henderson

Gausman has admitted that he needs to be better which is true since the Blue Jays currently sit just around .500 but if they plan on making a push for the playoffs they need their starting rotation to deliver on a more regular basis.
Some have gotten to the point where they want the Blue Jays to trade Gausman which could end up being a decent move but they need to make sure that they get an incredible return.
