Blue Jays are starting to lose patience with Anthony Santander, Bowden Francis and Jeff Hoffman
The Blue Jays have had a few surprises this season in terms of players stepping up in a big way from last season such as Bo Bichette and George Springer but they have also had huge disappointments.
One player that has failed to impress this season is pitcher Bowden Francis after coming off an incredible end to 2024, Francis currently has a 5.04 ERA this season in 55.2 innings pitched.
However, things haven't been going as planned so far for the 29-year-old right-hander. Following a promising start to the year, Francis has been up and down for the most part in recent weeks.
On the season, he has compiled a dismal 2-6 record with a 5.04 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, along with 46 strikeouts in 55 1/3 innings pitched over 11 starts. -Eng
Another pitcher who was been struggling lately is closer Jeff Hoffman who signed a $33 million deal this off-season and came into the year on fire but in May finished with a 6.04 ERA in 12 appearances.
He yielded multiple earned runs In five of his 12 appearances in May while blowing three saves in nine opportunities. As a result, Hoffman ended the month sporting an abysmal 6.04 ERA on the year. -Eng
Finally there is Anthony Santander who is now on the injured list due to a shoulder injury but he as well has been a complete disappointment this season as he only has 6 homeruns and 18 RBIs in 50 games this season.
Unfortunately, it has been a disastrous start so far in his tenure with the Jays. It took Santander 15 games before he recorded his first home run with his new club. Even up until now, he has managed only six home runs and 18 RBIs through 50 games -Eng
All three of these players need to seriously improve their game before the deadline if not they are definitely at risk of being moved.
