Blue Jays announce injury update on Bowden Francis
Half way through the June, the Blue Jays announced that Francis was placed on 15 day IL with a right shoulder impingement while also announcing a long list of other roster moves including Erik Swanson being DFA'd.
ROSTER MOVES:
RHP Paxton Schultz recalled from Triple-A and will be active tonight
LHP Justin Bruihl selected to the Major League roster and will be active tonight
RHP Erik Swanson DFA'd
RHP Bowden Francis placed on 15-day IL (right shoulder impingement)
According to reports, Francis has now began to play catch from 60-90 feet in Florida at the Blue Jays complex after receiving a shot of cortisone for his shoulder last week.
Bowden Francis (shoulder) began playing flat-ground catch from 60-90 feet in Florida on Friday. He received a cortisone injection last week.
No changes for Anthony Santander (shoulder), who's yet to resume hitting.
While this means that Francis is on his way back from injury, this puts the Blue Jays in a tough spot since he was a serious problem for them before being placed on IL.
The Blue Jays will now have to figure out where to put him as the trade deadline approaches rapidly.
