Toronto Blue Jays fans may have their second opening day event at Rogers Centre this week as stadium crews prepare to potentially open the Dome for the first time this season.

It's been mentioned that the team has essentially 2 opening days which is the first of the new season and when the Blue Jays can open the Dome roof for open air play.

Crews seen working on Dome this week for home stand

Rogers Centre has delayed the opening of its roof as the weather around the Toronto area has not been great over the past couple of weeks with colder air, crews have been testing the Dome and its mechanism to be sure that it's ready for when they decide to open it.
The fully retractable roof at the Rogers Centre is an engineering masterpiece It covers eight acres, reaches a height of 282 feet, weighs 11,000 tons, and can be opened/closed in 20 minutes to uncover more than 90% of the seating.

The Blue Jays are currently on a homestand of six games where the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Guardians will be in Toronto.
There has not been an official date when the Dome will be opened for the first time this year but many feel that the team will be preparing to do so this weekend.

Blue Jays looking for a turnaround their early season woes

After a strong start to the season for their first few weeks, the Blue Jays have settled into the schedule and have not fared well over the past couple of weeks.
There's six game road trip did not fare well as their record went 1-5 and only managed to score nine runs.
Many Blue Jays fans hoped the Red Sox would offer the Blue Jays offence a chance to reset and settle itself but in the opening game last night, the Blue Jays lost 10-2.
It's clear that the main issue with the Blue Jays now is it's offensive power outage as the team has been unable to score runs and hit the long ball consistently.
The team is currently at the bottom of Major League Baseball when it comes to home runs hit and RBI which has left manager John Schneider scrambling for answers an even looking to the Buffalo Bisons in Triple A to help stimulate their offense.
Game 2 in their series will take place today at 7:07 PM on April 30th as Jose Berrios will take the mound against Red Sox starter Lucas Giolito.
