The Blue Jays announced early this morning that they have decided to sign former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Spencer Turnbull to help with their currently injured pitchers.
The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly come to an agreement with free agent pitcher Spencer Turnbull. That comes from Keegan Matheson of MLB.com and comes after the Jays indicated on Friday that they were open to and working on outside roster additions. -Farkas
Turnbull agreed to a major league contract with the Blue Jays but the deal is still pending a physical examination.

Turnbull posted a 2.65 ERA in 54.1 innings with the Phillies last year (7 starts, 10 relief appearances)
This is a great move by the Blue Jays since last season as a reliever for the Phillies, Turnbull put up great numbers with a 3-0 record, 2.65 ERA in 17 games while striking out a total of 58 batters.
Turnbull was solid for Philadelphia last season, going 3-0 with a 2.65 ERA in his 17 appearances. He struck out 58 batters in 54.1 innings. -Farkas
While the Blue Jays need more of a starting pitcher right now, acquiring another solid reliever is definitely not a bad thing.
