The Blue Jays have apparently made a new offer to Vladimir Guerrero Jr
MLB insider Jon Heyman recently stated that the Blue Jays were believed to be closing in on a $500 million deal with Guerrero and according to reports Heyman is spot on.
Over the past few hours multiple sources have stated that the Blue Jays have put together an offer at $505 million to Guerrero's camp on a 14 year term which would pay him an average of $36.07 million per season.
Clapz23 just told me Vladdy and the Jays have a deal at 14/505 with escelators for winning AL MVP that could take it to $550MM.
People close to the situation are telling me this: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays have made a lot of progress towards a 500 million dollars deal. Time frame? 14 years. The announcement could be done soon. Looks like Vladi Jr. is staying in Toronto long term.
Fans are desperatly hoping that the Blue Jays finally get this deal done because a contract extension would be great for the team not only for their future but for this season as the players would finally be able to solely focus on playing.
Locking down Guerrero to a 14 year contract would also be incredible for the team's future as it would gurantee them a superstar in the lineup for at least the next decade that they can build around.
If a deal does get signed, it will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays manager to keep Bo Bichette in Toronto as well.
