Following their recent surge in the standings, the Toronto Blue Jays now sit inside the top 10 in betting odds to win the World Series in October.

The Blue Jays defeated the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, earning them their 10th straight win.

Oddsmakers share shocking news concerning the Blue Jays.

Adam Laskaris from DH Sports writes that riding the momentum of a 10-game winning streak, the 54-38 Blue Jays are either breaking or nearing several franchise records. Their 54 victories before the All-Star break mark a new franchise high, and they're just one win away from matching their longest winning streak ever.
Oddsmakers have clearly taken notice, positioning the Blue Jays among the top contenders in the league.
"As per FanDuel Sportsbook's World Series odds, the Blue Jays have crept up to eighth place. Entering Wednesday, the Blue Jays now have +2200 odds at winning the World Series, good enough for eighth in the majors and fourth in the American League." -Laskaris

Even after overtaking the New York Yankees in the standings, oddsmakers still favour Toronto's AL East rival, giving the Yankees +900 odds, which are second best in the American League and fourth overall in MLB.
Leading the pack, unsurprisingly to anyone who's followed baseball in recent years, are the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, sitting comfortably at +120 odds.
Here's the top-15 list, per FanDuel.
Los Angeles Dodgers, +210
Detroit Tigers, +700
Philadelphia Phillies, +850
New York Yankees, +900
Houston Astros, +950
Chicago Cubs, +1200
New York Mets, +1200
Toronto Blue Jays, +2200
Seattle Mariners, +3000
Tampa Bay Rays, +3000
San Francisco Giants, +3100
San Diego Padres, +3200
Milwaukee Brewers, +3300
Boston Red Sox, +4500
Texas Rangers, +5000
While the Blue Jays aren't quite among the World Series favourites yet, they've made a significant leap from their Opening Day odds of +6500, which had them ranked 20th in the league.
"Toronto continues its action on the road against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon to close out a three-game set, before hitting the road to Sacramento to play the Athletics for the first time in their new temporary stadium." -Laskaris

The Blue Jays will return home on Friday, July 18, to begin a six-game homestand featuring matchups against the Giants and Yankees.
