The Toronto Blue Jays have been having some issues with their bullpen this season but it looks like they might have found a new secret weapon late in the season in Eric Lauer.

The Blue Jays announced a couple weeks ago that moving forward they have decided to only use 5 starting pitcher in their rotation and moved Lauer to the bullpen.

Lauer took the mound for the first time in 10 days today against the Orioles and put together a very impressive performance out of the bullpen.
In the Blue Jays comeback win against the Orioles this afternoon, Lauer pitched 1.2 inning, finishing with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
Lauer looked very sharp today. Seems like those 11 days off did him well

Fans were very impressed with Lauer's outing especially with that much time off which made some realize that he might have needed to time off.
Eric Lauer 1-2-3 on 10 pitches. I can't believe the Blue Jays banished this guy. He'd be the Mets #2. I'm so jealous


While Lauer could be very important for the Blue Jays bullpen heading into the playoffs if he continues to pitch like this, the Blue Jays will have to decide if he deserves a spot in their rotation next season.

Lauer has been beyond impressive this season as he currently has a 3.35 ERA with a 8-2 record in 23 games this season along with 95 strikeouts.
