The Toronto Blue Jays desperately need help when it comes to their bullpen and might have found the solution in former San Diego Padres reliever Tanner Scott.
The Blue Jays had one of the worst bullpen in the entire MLB last season and if they plan on actually changing that, they need will spend money as bringing in cheap relief pitchers will not solve their problem.
The Blue Jays could better their bullpen in a major way by signing Tanner Scott
Scott is one of if not the top free agent in terms of the relief pitchers on the market this off-season which is why he will surely be getting a great contract as multiple teams are interested.
The Blue Jays have mentioned how they do not plan on spending a ton this off-season but if they truly want to bring in players that will help turn this team around they will have no choice but to make real offers.
Scott is exactly what the Blue Jays need in an all-star caliber reliever after he put up a 1.75 ERA in Miami and San Diego last season through 72 innings pitched while striking out 84 batters. There isn't any doubt that the club has a lot of work to do to improve their bullpen heading into 2025. They somewhat surprising let Génesis Cabrera become a free agent, a guy that was one of the few somewhat reliable relief arms on the team. Signing Scott alone is not going to completely fix this bullpen, but it would certainly be a good place to start. -GeorgesWhile only signing Scott will not completely fix the Blue Jays bullpen since they need to add depth to it which they did not have last season, he is definitely a great place to start as they will at least have one high end closer.
