A historic milestone was reached on the West Coast within the Blue Jays organization.

The Vancouver Canadians, Toronto's High-A affiliate, defeated the Spokane Indians 11-6 yesterday, marking their tenth straight victory and establishing a new franchise record for consecutive wins.

Tyson Shushkewich from Blue Jays Nation writes that the streak began on June 5th, when the Canadians kicked off with a win over Tri-City Dust Devils. Since then, they've dropped just one game this month, a 7-5 loss to the Dust Devils on June 4th, and have now won 18 of their last 20.
While recent Vancouver teams have reached nine-game winning streaks several times, hitting the elusive double-digit mark had remained just out of reach, until now.
"During this consecutive win streak, the bats have exploded to the tune of an 84-29 run differential, with the Canadians surpassing the double-digit run mark on four different occasions. Their best night came on June 13th, with the Canadians smashing Spokane by a score of 15-0. Six players on the team had multi-hit days, and collectively, they posted 16 hits and nine walks. Jackson Hornung had two doubles, and Je'Von Ward tagged on another, but the team used small ball to win the day, with the Canadians not putting a home run on the board while going 10 for 19 with RISP." -Shushkewich

On the mound, the Canadians received a major boost in mid-May with the additions of Trey Yesavage, Khal Stephens, and Gage Stanifer, While Yesavage was recently promoted to Double-A New Hampshire, the rest of Vancouver's pitching staff has continued to deliver strong performances throughout the mouth, helping fuel the team's impressive run.
"This month has been kind to a few players on the roster, such as Nick Goodwin. The shortstop owns a 1.164 OPS through 11 games this month, including six home runs and 17 RBIs in June alone. He earned NWL Player of the Week honours last week for his strong series against Tri-City. Ward also authored an OPS over 1.000 while collecting eight hits through 28 at-bats with 21 walks mixed in between. Leading the charge on the average front was Cutter Coffey, who went 17 for 50 (.340) in the batter's box and accounted for 18 runs this month." -Shushkewich

Riding their recent hot streak, the Canadians have climbed to the top of the Northwest League standings with a 35-28 record, holding a one-game lead over the Everett AquaSox. They'll look to extend their historic run as they head to Eugene to take on the Emeralds.
