News broke yesterday that the Blue Jays agreed to terms with shortstop free agent Maddox Latta after he went undrafted and it looks like the Blue Jays got a serious steal in Latta.
SIGNING: @FullertonBSB standout SS Maddox Latta has signed with the @BlueJays as a Free Agent, I'm told. Latta, 5-11, 175 pounds, is a smooth defender and finished the 2025 campaign with a .362 average and 15 doubles + 37 BB/31 K. Was committed to @AggieBaseball out of the portal.
Latta was suppose to transfer to Texas A&M next season but it looks like he chose to go pro instead and will now begin his career with the Blue Jays.
According to reports, the Blue Jays got a seriously skilled shortstop in Latta who won the Big West Defensive player of the year with Fullerton and is able to handle multiple positions around the infield.
#Bluejays pick up Maddox Latta as a UDFA. Big West Defensive POY with a steady glove and .977 fielding %. Can move around the infield, solid depth piece with real instincts. @BlueJays #LightsUpLetsGo
