The Toronto Blue Jays announced some life changing news for pitcher Alek Manaoh yesterday as him and his wife welcomed a baby into the world yesterday.
Manaoh is still in the process of returning from Tommy John surgery which seems to be going well as he got back to pitching a few weeks ago and is still set to return to the lineup sometime in August.
The Blue Jays announce incredible news regarding pitcher Alek Manoah yesterday
Blue Jays manager John Schneider is the one that broke the news to reporters after stating that Manoah's wife Marielena gave birth two weeks and that Manoah is now back in Dunedin still recovering.
John Schneider tells us that Alek Manoah is a new father (along with his rehab going well in Dunedin, etc. etc.)
Alek Manoah - whose wife, Marielena, gave birth to a boy about two weeks ago - is in Dunedin throwing bullpens regularly and advancing through his Tommy John rehab progression
He remains on track to return to Blue Jays sometime in the second half of the season
This is both great news for Manaoh and the Blue Jays as he is now a father and the Blue Jays seem to be one step closer to getting their starting pitcher back which seems like a necessity at this point.
It will be interesting to see who gets taken out of the starting rotation once Manoah is back and ready to take the mound.
There is always the possibility of them going with 6 starting pitchers.
