Toronto Blue Jays announce results for Erik Swanson's MRI

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to have dodged a major setback with one of their key bullpen relievers.
Blue Jays' Erik Swanson receives update on foremarm injury on Thursday and it doesn't appear to be as bad.
Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports despite being shutdown before a rehab game on Wednesday, an initial MRI on Swanson revealed no structural damage to his forearm.

Sportsnet reports that according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Swanson is set to seek a second opinion as the team works to identify the root of the injury. In the meantime, he plans to play catch on Thursday as part of his recovery process.
Erik Swanson (forearm) had an MRI that showed no structural damage, so he's getting a 2nd opinion as they try to figure out what's happening.
He's going to play catch today, though, as he and the #BlueJays want to avoid a full shutdown and another ramp-up.
Swanson opened the season on the injured list with median nerve entrapment in his pitching elbow, an issue that first surfaced during spring training. It marked the second consecutive year he began the season sidelined by injury.
"Upon his return, however, Swanson flashed the form that made him so effective in 2023. Over his final 24.2 innings of 2024, he pitched to a 2.55 ERA and 27 strikeouts." -Sportsnet
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and we're hoping that Swanson hasn't pitched his last game for the Blue Jays.
