The Toronto Blue Jays announce this morning that they have made a roster move involving pitcher Alek Manoah as his rehab window has been extended.

Manoah had a extremely solid performance in his last outing with the Buffalo Bisons as he finished with 4 strikeouts while only giving up 1 run and 3 hits in 4.2 innings pitched.

Blue Jays extend Alek Manoah rehab window

The Blue Jays announced this morning that they have officially extended Manoah's rehab window by using one of his 3 10-day extensions which are available for pitcher returning from Tommy John surgery.
Jays have extended Alek Manoah's rehab window beyond the typical 30 days by using one of three 10-day extensions available under the CBA for pitchers coming back from TJ
Manoah will be throwing a side session with the Blue Jays this weekend before returning to Buffalo to continue his rehab assignment.
If the Blue Jays use all three extension for Manoah's rehab assignment, they can push his window until September 12th which is when they will have to make a concrete decision.
"As for Manoah, he's slated to throw a side session in Miami over the weekend before returning to the team's triple-A Buffalo affiliate, where he's expected to make another start early next week. The Blue Jays have prolonged his 30-day rehab stint with one 10-day extension and can use up to two more if needed, potentially extending his rehab window through September 12." -Nicholson-Smith

There has been rumors of the Blue Jays looking to keep Manoah out of the lineup for the entire season and only bring him back to the starting rotation next season.
If Toronto does bring Manoah back this season, they will certainly have some big starting rotation problems on their hands as that would put them at a total of 7 starting pitchers.
The Blue Jays already put Eric Lauer in the bullpen for the series against the Marlins but have made it clear that it is not permanent.
