Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced this afternoon their starting pitcher for game 2 of the World Series.

The Blue Jays announced a few days ago that they would be going with Trey Yesavage for game 1 of the World Series but stated that had yet to decide who would start game 2.

Blue Jays name Kevin Gausman as the game 2 starter

Schneider spoke to the media ahead of game 1 this afternoon in which he announced that Kevin Gausman would be getting the start for Toronto.

Games 3 and 4 remain TBD
The Blue Jays manager also added that they have yet to decide who will get the starts for game 3 and 4 but that they have been looking at all options.
Kevin Gausman is starting Game 2, said John Schneider. Blue Jays still working through Games 3 and 4.
During a recent interview Gausman admitted that he knew when they used him in the bullpen for game 7 of the ALCS that he would get moved in the rotation and would like miss out on starting game 1.
Gausman admitted that was tough for him as he really wanted to start game 1 but knew after game 7 he simply would not be ready in time.
Kevin Gausman is throwing a side right now, which would appear to set him to start Game 2 on Saturday.

He said he went into Game 7 of ALCS knowing that "if I did get in that game, that maybe Game 1 would kind of be a stretch."

"That was hard for me to swallow, to be honest," he continued, but "I would hate to go out there not knowing exactly what I'm going to get out of myself. That played a big part in the last couple days."
Clearly the Blue Jays feel comfortable with Gausman and Yesavage to kick off a series as they continue to go to these two to start things off.
