The Toronto Blue Jays are currently playing the Detroit Tigers and the team finally announced why outfielder Anthony Santander was out for a second game.
The Blue Jays kicked off their series against the Tigers yesterday in a tough 5-4 loss which Santander was not in the lineup for as manager John Schneider stated that because they wanted to give him a break to help him reset.

The Blue Jays decided to give Satander a break yesterday in hopes that he would be able to reset since he has been so brutal at the plate in the first quarter of the despite coming off a career year in 2024.
Santander was out of the Blue Jays lineup for a second game in a row tonight due to apparently left hip soreness which they stated could allow him to come off the bench and hit which he did and he was walked after all.

Anthony Santander isn't in the Blue Jays lineup today due to some «soreness/impingement going on» in his left hip, said manager John Schneider. «Hopefully available off the bench.»
With all this strange stuff going on with Santander and the team, it is hard to see that he will be able to pull through at some point this season and turn things around, especially if he has another injury.
Santander was brought in on massive deal this off-season since the Blue Jays were hoping he would bring in some much needed offense but after he has been part of the problem when it comes to production so far in 2025.
The former slugger has been having such a tough time that even John Schneider has spoken about possibly moving him down the batting order to help him find his game once again.
