The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for a leadoff hitter for the start of the season and it seems like Bo Bichette might be stealing the spot from George Springer.
George Springer is one of the best leadoff hitters of all-time but he has shown some clear signs of a decline over the last two years which is why his spot is in jeopardy this season.
Bo Bichette looking to push George Springer out as leadoff hitter
Bichette has looked great for the Blue Jays as a leadoff hitter so far at Spring Training including in today's game against the Red Sox where he finished 3 for 4 with 1 RBI.

3 for 4
1 RBI
.364 AVG, .982 OPS this Spring

During a recent interview with Keegan Matheson, Bichette stated that he really enjoys hitting leadoff, that it excites him and that he likes setting the tone for the team as the first hitter.
Bo Bichette on (potentially) leading off:
βIt does excite me. I've spent some time there and I've always enjoyed my time there. I take it as a challenge to set the tone for the team.β #BlueJays

Bichette also added that he has spoken with manager John Schneider and told him that he has liked hitting leadoff so far and would like to continue that this season but that he would be ok with any spot in the order.
Bo Bichette says he's enjoying the challenge of hitting leadoff in some spring games and has told manager John Schneider that he'd be up for doing so in the regular season. Adds that he's fine with "whatever spot" is needed from him.

The Blue Jays clearly need to make Bichette their leadoff hitter this season instead of Springer but just because it makes sense, does not mean it will happen.
