Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk announced his decision today regarding if he will be playing for team Mexico at the World Baseball Classic.
Outfielder George Springer announced yesterday that he would not be playing for team Puerto Rico as he continues to rehab his injuries.

Team Mexico confirmed this afternoon that Kirk would be suiting up for them in March as the countries catcher for the tournament.
Mexico announced Wednesday that Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk has committed to suit up for his country in March.

At the Baseball World Classic back in 2023, Kirk did not end up playing for Mexico as he had to step away for the birth of his child but Mexico still ended up making it to the semifinals.
Kirk was unable to participate in the 2023 World Baseball Classic due to the birth of his child, keeping him away from training camp for too long. Mexico still delivered a strong performance in that tournament, advancing to the semifinal before falling to the eventual champion Samurai Japan.
This should be a big moment for Kirk who will get to represent his home country at the biggest national baseball tournament in the World.
The Blue Jays will likely have a few players including Vladimir Guerrero Jr and Jose Berrios that should be playing as well.
