Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk was unbelievable in his first game back against the Tampa Bay Rays but after the game revealed quite the unsettling truth about his most recent injury.
The Blue Jays tied the series at one game a piece yesterday in a solid performance by Toronto as they only allowed 1 run to score on a total of 7 hits throughout the game.

After the Blue Jays win yesterday, Kirk spoke on his most recent head injury which he admitted that was the most pain he has ever felt from a hit to the head as it was nothing like getting a ball to the mask.
For some two minutes, the Toronto Blue Jays catcher tried to gather himself from the blow to his temple, which he described as the worst he's ever taken on the field.

Kirk tried to play through the injury but admitted that after a bit more time in the game, he simply could not shake the pain which is why he had to leave the game which is when Tyler Heineman came in.
«At the beginning after I got hit, I felt OK,» Kirk said of the Rodriguez backswing before the game. «But when I hit the double and I was running the bases, I felt weird, maybe a little bit dizzy.

The good news is that Kirk seems to be good once again as he was a huge part of last night's win and since they do not have a lot of catcher depth, it is good that he is back in the lineup.
The worrying part is that if he really did feel that much pain, the next time he gets struck, the problems might be a lot worse.
