Blue Jays pitcher Chris Bassitt speaks on the team's lack of offense
The Blue Jays are on the verge of getting swept against the Houston Astros after another loss last night in which Bassitt said he was not pleased with how he pitched giving up 7 hits and 4 earned runs.
C. Bassitt 5.1IP, 7H, 4R, 4ER, BB 3K
"Unfortunately, my pitching style, you're going to give up a lot of those weak contact hits, you just hope they don't string them together the way they did"
Wished he used curveball more
"For whatever reason they were on the sweeper tonite"
Bassitt also spoke on the Blue Jays lack of offense lately stating that the team needs to finish the month of April on a high and thinks that if they can face a couple bad pitchers, it would help.
Chris Bassitt on #BlueJays offense:
"We knew April was going to be hard for us.. just keep grinding, don't panic about these stretches.. we have to come out of April on a good foot, we're there.. it would be better to face lower level pitchers more than top guys over and over"
This is an interesting comment since opposing teams will not go out of their way to put their worst pitcher on the mound to help the Blue Jays slump out but it seems like that's what Bassitt is hoping for.
