The Toronto Blue Jays completed the sweep against the St Louis Cardinals but a worrying moment took place in the game when Ernie Clement left the game with a left knee injury.
The Blue jays took Clement out of the game in the 8th inning due to a left knee issue after an incredible game in which he had 3 hits including his fourth homerun of the season.
Clement after the game stated that he is fine and that the team forced him out of the game since they have an off day tomorrow before the next series begins.
Ernie Clement on leaving game in 8th w/what looked like a left knee issue, but said he's ok:
«they just forced me to come out - just precautionary because we have the off day tomorrow.»
Clement 3 hits, including his 4th HR of year, as Blue Jays sweep Cardinals.
Manager John Schneider also added that he is fine and that the injury is nothing serious joking that it is just a lower body injury which is what they say in hockey since Clement is a big hockey fan.
John Schneider on Ernie Clement, who was subbed out with a knee issue late in the game:
«He's fine, being that he's a hockey fan, we're gonna call a lower body injury.»
Clement is now listed as day to day but will likely only miss a game at most before getting back into the lineup as it seems that it is really nothing to worry about.
