Toronto Blue Jays decide to make some drastic changes to starting rotation after optioning Easton Lucas
The Toronto Blue Jays announced some drastic changes to their starting rotation yesterday as they announced who will be pitching the next few games.
The Blue Jays decided to option
Easton Lucas down to Triple-A despite a hot start to the season since he had back to back horrendous game over his last two start for the Blue Jays.
Blue Jays announce drastic changes to their starting rotation
The Blue Jays announced some pretty big changes to their starting rotation yesterday prior to their game against the
Houston Astros in which
Kevin Gausman took the mound in a disaster of a loss.
Since the Blue Jays still have
Max Scherzer out and they have decided to option Lucas, it looks like they will be moving forward with only four starting pitchers for the next little while.
Blue Jays plan to skip fifth rotation spot this turn. The scheduled starters for rest of the road trip:
Mon @ HOU - Kevin Gausman
Tues @ HOU - Chris Bassitt
Weds @ HOU - Bowden Francis
Thurs - OFF
Fri @ NYY - Jose Berrios
Sat @ NYY - Kevin Gausman
Sun @ NYY - Chris Bassitt
This comes as a bit of a surprise since just a few days ago manager John Schneider stated that he was keeping Lucas despite his bad game because he did not want to tire out the other starting pitchers.
Hopefully Scherzer is back shortly since the chances of these pitchers being able to last very long with this type of schedule is very small.
The good news is that they at least have Thursday off before their series against the New York Yankees begins on Friday.
