This will be Gimenez first game back in over a months when he went down with an ankle injury in early July which was supposed to be a quick recovery which ended up taking longer than expected.
Kennedy on the other hand did not last long with the Blue Jays as he only last 6 games which included 12 at bats with 1 hit for a 0.83 batting average and .214 on base percentage.
As Gimenez got close to returning, most anticipated that Kennedy would be let go but the real question is who will be moved once George Springer returns to the lineup.
