Fernando Perez pitched in this year's MLB All-Star Futures game and The Toronto Blue Jays really took notice.

The Blue Jays were impressed by Fernando Perez in a scouting video but then noticed something weird.

"I'm like, ‘What is that? Are those goats?'”

Yup, goats. The right-hander's had quite the journey from an open-grassland tryout to the Futures Game:
From a tryout two years ago in a small field in Nicaragua 🇳🇮 - to the biggest stage for rising @MLB stars.

Fernando Perez already has a no-hitter and immaculate inning to his name.

Today, he added the All-Star #FuturesGame to his résumé!

This season for the Dunedin Blue Jays, Perez has logged 75 innings across 14 starts. The 20-year-old holds a 3.48 ERA, 1.013 WHIP, 81 strikeouts and 4.05 strikeout/walk rate.

He is still a long way away from being in the Big Leagues but if he keeps performing this way, he'll make it there in no time.
