The Toronto Blue Jays surprised their fans today when they announced that they have signed Nic Enright and Josh Winckowski who are both recovering from Tommy John surgery.

The Blue Jays agreed to a two year minor league deal with Winckowski this evening and reached an agreement on the sale deal with Enright earlier today.

When news broke regarding Enright it was a bit of a surprise since there has not been much details on him so far in free agency plus with the fact that he just had surgery not many thought he would get signed so quickly.
Enright is not expected to play at all during the 2026 season and will take his time recovering as he prepares for the 2027 season.

Winckowski on the other hand is set to be ready for late 2026 but the chances of the Blue Jays getting much use out of him this year is slim to none.

This could end up being a genius move by Toronto if things play out well but there is certainly some risk involved with both players coming back from major surgery.
