The Toronto Blue jays have a ton of questions marks surrounding many players heading into 2025 including prospect outfielder Joey Loperfido.

The Blue Jays acquired Loperfido as part of the package that saw beloved pitched Yusei Kikuchi traded to the Houston Astros at this year's trade deadline in which many believed the Blue Jays to have won the trade.

Blue Jays outfielder prospect Joey Loperfido has a shaky future in Toronto next season

When Loperfido arrived in Toronto, fans were excited since the young prospect seem to have a solid base and the potential to become a solid big league outfielder. Loperfido has looked solid defensively in the Majors but has struggled at the plate with a 46% strikeout rate with the Blue Jays.

Loperfido's time as a Blue Jay so far hasn't been one to dwell on, as he's sporting a 17/0 strikeout-to-walk ratio which comes out to a 46% strikeout rate. Not good so far to say the least, but it's clear that the upside is definitely there for the young outfielder and maybe a change of scenery will take him a bit of time to adjust to. Baseball Savant's Park Factor stat board shows that the Astros' Minute Maid Park and Toronto's Rogers Centre are similar and sit right at the overall league average of 100. This is just to say that Toronto's dimensions won't play unfavourably to Loperfido's skillset anymore than his previous home park in Houston. -Hyatt

Since the Blue Jays are looking for some new options in the outfield, Loperfido could be part of the team to start the season next year but it really comes down to how much he is able to improve his hitting during the off-season.

The Blue Jays prospect is only 25 years old and still has time to develop but if he wants to play in the Majors next season, there is no doubt that he needs to improve his hitting.
