Toronto Blue Jays Rogers Centre undergoes major transformation while they are on the road
The Toronto Blue Jays home field Rogers Centre has undergone A transformation while the team has been on the road in Houston as the field is being prepared for a major concert.
Rock band Metallica is in Toronto for a two-night show which will be held at Rogers Centre on Thursday and Friday evening. The grounds crews began their work immediately and within 24 hours the venue was transformed into a rock venue.
Ground crews wasted no time in making the change to the field
The work began around 4:36 PM on Sunday and by 6:00 AM Monday morning everything was ready to host the concerts.
Rogers Centre has undergone a major transformation as Rogers Communications decided to turn the ballpark into a venue primarily a ballpark but can be converted to other events.
The company decided to invest $400 million in renovations that have gone on for the last two years.
The changes to the ballpark have been fantastic as improving fan experience has been the number one driver for Blue Jays fans with better seats, changes to the size of the lower bowl and including new restaurants and bars better at field level that will help fans get a better sense of how the Blue Jays are doing.
Rogers is also not giving up on the music scene and other entertainment events such as WrestleMania which continues to bring fans and new fans to the ballpark and gives the company a chance to show off their investment.
Blue Jays struggling on this road trip
The Blue Jays meanwhile, have struggled on this road trip as the team was swept by the Houston Astros with offense as the biggest question mark. The team was unable to hit the ball at times and only scored two runs in three games.
This is the second series in their young season that have seen the Blue Jays swept which happened two weeks earlier when they were on the road against the New York Mets.
The Blue Jays also struggled against the Seattle Mariners as they lost two of their three games and allowed two games to be scored with eight runs against.
The team is facing some adversity, and the players and coaching staff will need to dig deeper and figure out a way to get back on the winning track after coming out of the gate strong and competitive.
The Blue Jays now will head to New York City where they will take on the Yankees for a three-game series before heading back to Rogers Centre on Tuesday to face off against the Boston Red Sox.
