Blue Jays DFA Dillon Tate and place Andres Gimenez on IL
The Blue Jays quick off their series against the Seattle Mariners tonight and announced some shocking moves prior to the start of the game that many did not see coming.
According to reports, the Blue Jays have DFA'd Dillon Tate and placed Andres Gimenez on 10 day IL while they have called up Michael Stefanic to replace Gimenez for the time being.
News from Seattle: The #BlueJays have placed 2B Andrés Giménez on the IL with a right quad strain retroactive to May 8.
The Blue Jays signed Tate to a minor league deal right before the start of Spring Training but after only 5 games with the team this season, the Blue Jays did not think it was worth keeping him.
So far this season tate has a 5.06 ERA in 5.1 innings pitched with 7 strikeouts and 6 walks.
