The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they have called up infielder Michael Stefanic to replace Andres Gimenez who is currently out with a quad injury.
Gimenez left the game Wednesday night after trying to beat out the throw to first and was pulled from the game for precautionary reasons and has now been listed as day to day.

The Blue Jays had Gimenez take an MRI after the game but it looks like there is no serious damage to his quad which is why he is currently listed as day to day and will surely be back soon.

The Blue Jays are bringing in Stefanic from the minors while Gimenez recovers and according to reporter Ben Nicholson-Smith, he will joining the Blue Jays in Seattle as they kick of their series tonight.

Stefanic has been in Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons since being since this off-season and has been off to a decent start as he currently has a .232 batting average with a .301 on base percentage.
Stefanic, 29, was pulled in the middle of Thursday's game playing for the triple-A Buffalo Bisons.
In 40 games for the Bisons this season, Stefanic is slashing .232/.301/.255. -Sportsnet
It will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays end up using Stefanic in any of their games at second base or if they brought him up simply as a back up option in case someone else gets injured.
