Blue Jays announce that they have signed new shortstop Raimundo De Los Santos
The Blue Jays announced yesterday that they signed former Red Sox shortstop prospect De Los Santos to a minor league contract and have send him to the FCL Blue Jays.
De Los Santos was part of the Boston Red Sox minor league system up until this past March when he was released from his current contract with the Red Sox becoming a free agent once again.
Former Red Sox minor league IF/OF Raimundo De Los Santos signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays today, per the MiLB transactions log.
De Los Santos, 20, was released by BOS in late March after spending 2024 in the FCL. He's been assigned to TOR's FCL affiliate.
The young shortstop has shown some promise as a solid hitter and a decent defensive game which is why this signing makes a lot of sense since he is only 20 years old.
Hopefully the Blue Jays do a solid job of developing him over the next few years and he will be a part of the team's future.
