Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher needs surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season

The Toronto Blue Jays just announced that starting pitcher prospect Jake Bloss who went down with an injury last week will now miss a significant amount of time as he will need UCL surgery.
The Blue Jays announced last week that Bloss injured himself in a game while playing for the Buffalo Bisons and that he would miss quite a bit of time but no one knew how long until the team ran more tests which they finally did.

News broke moments ago that Bloss will need surgery on his UCL after all and will now miss significant time due to this but they still don't know if he will be able to come back this season or miss the rest of it.

This is a brutal blow for Bloss who was hoping to get called up this season despite having a tough year so far in Triple-A as he currently has a 6.46 ERA with an 0-1 record on the season with 22 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitched.
The Blue Jays have yet to release a timeline as to when Bloss will get back but even if he does manage to return this season, he will likely only be back towards the end of the season if his recovery goes according to plan.
The Blue Jays continue to have a tough time this season keeping their pitchers healthy as Bloss is one of many that has gone done with an injury.
