Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr was hit by a pitch against the Cleveland Guardians and despite initial worries, he was in the lineup against the Boston Red Sox.
Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr speaks on his injury after win over the Red Sox
Guerrero was originally suppose to be available off the bench against the Red Sox as the team wanted to give him some time to rest his arm up even if the injury was not too serious but then ended up putting him in the lineup last minute.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is now IN the #BlueJays' lineup, batting third and playing first.
Guerrero stated that when he got to the ballpark he still felt the injury but after receiving treatment, he felt great which is why he told manager John Schneider he wanted to play.
Things clearly worked out for both the Blue Jays and Guerrero as he finished the game going 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 runs and a walk.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said when he arrived at the ballpark, his forearm felt 'tight'. He received treatment, hit indoors, and after going through his usual routines, "felt great, and told (Schneider) that I was ready to play."
Despite worries after being pulled from the game against the Guardians, it looks like the injury was really nothing serious and Guerrero should not miss any more time due to it.
