The Blue Jays announced a few days ago that they had designated Berroa for assignment after a tough start to the season and it looks like the Dodgers were interested.

The Blue Jays announced this afternoon that they have trade outfielder Steward Berroa to the Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations.
Toronto also announced that they pitcher Dillon Tate who was recently DFA'd as well has cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A which is where he is now headed.

There is no real surprise here since it was almost certain that a team would take a chance on Berroa with some of the numbers he has posted over the last few years, despite his slow start in 2025.
Hopefully he will be able to find his game once again in Los Angeles and will find a spot on the Dodgers roster for the remainder of the season.
