Trey Yesavage enters spring training not just as a prospect, but as a legitimate weapon ready to anchor the Blue Jays rotation.

The hype train has officially left the station, and for once, it feels completely justified.
Yesavage (Drafted 1st round, 2024 by Toronto) rocketed through the system last year to become a postseason hero.
His performance in October wasn't a fluke; it was a preview of what his unique mechanics can do to big-league hitters.
He throws from an exceptionally high arm slot—nearly 7 feet at release—which makes his fastball look like it's rising.
Hitters can’t pick up the ball, and just when they adjust to the heat, he pulls the string.
His "splinker" (splitter-sinker hybrid) falls off the table with devastating action that mimics his fastball perfectly until it's too late.
The Blue Jays development staff deserves massive credit for tweaking his slider velocity.
By adding over 2 mph to the pitch since his East Carolina days, they gave him a third elite offering.

The rookie righty is already pitching like a ten-year veteran

What separates Yesavage isn't just the raw stuff; it is his fearlessness on the biggest stage.
Setting a World Series rookie record with 12 strikeouts in a single game proved he has ice in his veins.
Now the challenge is the grind of a full 162-game season and the adjustments hitters will make.
His command will be the "x-factor" that determines if he is a solid No. 3 or a future ace.
Because of his unique delivery, repeating his mechanics consistently is the only thing that can stop him.
If he stays healthy, he gives the Blue Jays one of the most terrifying young arms in the American League.
Toronto needs him to be great to compete in the AL East, and he looks ready to accept that burden.
Expectations are sky-high, but everything we have seen suggests Yesavage thrives under pressure.
