Trade offer announced between the Blue Jays and Angels for Taylor Ward
The Blue Jays have been looking for options to help out their outfield heading into the 2025 season as they have no one to place with George Springer and Daulton Varsho.
Recently, Drew VonScio of Newsweek proposed a trade that would see the Blue Jays land Taylor Ward, the standout Los Angeles Angles left fielder, for prospects Charles McAdoo, a third baseman/outfielder, and Landen Maroudis, a right-handed pitcher. -Roberts
While Ward does not have the same offensive skills as Santander or Hernandez, he still put up a solid 25 homeruns last season with 75 RBIs, a .246 batting average and .323 on base percentage.
If the Blue Jays do land Ward, they would be getting him at a reasonable $9 million for the 2025 seaosn which is nothing compared to what he will bring to the lineup.
"Ward is under team control for 2025 and 2026, so the Blue Jays would have him for two seasons," VonScio said. "He's set to make just under $9 million in 2025, but he will get a pay raise in 2026." -VonScio
This could be a great option for the Blue Jays as it is looking tough on the Hernandez and Santander front and the asking price for Ward does not seem too high.
