The Toronto Blue Jays have been open about still looking at possible trade option and a recent offer was announced between the Padres and Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays are still unsure of who they will have hit leadoff heading into the 2025 season because their usual leadoff hitter George Springer has been having an awful camp and was just as bad last season.
Trade offer announce between the Blue Jays and Padres for Luis Arraez
The Blue Jays ideally would love to add an additional hitter since bringing in Anthony Santander was a great addition but if they can add at least one more, they will surely have a very powerful offense.
Padres manager has been asked recently if he would trade Arraez and he did not deny it but mentioned that he holds a ton of value meanign that they would not give him up for cheap.
Padres president AJ Preller hasn't fully dismissed the idea of trading Arraez, but only insists he is highly valued. But even though Arraez was an important part of last season's success, there are two drawbacks that might tip the scales in favor of trading him for the right package. -Mountz
A recent report suggested that the Blue Jays would be interested in a trade for Arraez and they could see the Blue Jays trading Jake Bloss and Charles McAdoo in exchange for him.
Toronto Blue Jays Receive INF/DH Luis Arraez
San Diego Padres Receive RHP Jake Bloss (Blue Jays no. 6 prospect) OF/3B Charles McAdoo (Blue Jays no. 14 prospect)
This could end up being a very interesting trade for the Blue Jays since it would bring in a keep piece to their offense and despite not having a ton of homeruns or RBIs in 2024, Arraez finished the season with a .314 batting average and .346 on base percentage in 150 games played.
This could end up beign a game changing move for the Blue Jays if the Padres are willing to go for it.
