The Toronto Blue Jays are looking at a lot of different options for the trade deadline and it looks like they could be interested in acquiring Andrew Painter from the Phillies.
The Blue Jays are on a seriously hot run right now but they are also still 5.5 games behind the first place New York Yankees which is why they need to make some moves to improve their team.
Trade offer announced between the Phillies and Blue Jays involving Bo Bichette
Despite this, a recent trade proposal was announced that would send Bichette to the Phillies in exchange for top prospect Andrew Painter as the Phillies have a loaded lineup and are looking to win now.
FanSided's Christopher Kline suggested the team trade Bichette in a deal that lands them Andrew Painter from the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies' rotation is great, and they are trying to capitalize on their chances to win the World Series this year. -Mohammed
"Even after splurging on the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extension, this Toronto Blue Jays team is frustratingly... fine," wrote Kline. "There's still a path to the playoffs, but Toronto is leagues behind New York in a competitive division (and an even more competitive American League). It's clear Bo Bichette won't sign an extension, so he's a free agent in a few months." -Bichette
While keeping Bichette does make sense for right now since he has been one of their best players this season, it will also hurt them in the long run since they would likely lose him in free agency.
The Blue Jays are in a tough spot with Bichette since they need to figure out if they want to keep him for the season and risk it or play it safe by trading him at the deadline.
