Will the Blue Jays were not in the market for an average starting pitcher of Montas' caliber, there has now been a few pitchers taken off the board without Toronto closing a single signing which is starting to worry fans.
There is also the fact that if Montas is signing for $17 million per season, the Blue Jays hopes of landing a star pitcher for $15-20 million per season seems like a pipe dream at this point.
