Jackson Holliday's inaugural stint in Major League Baseball has come to an end. The Baltimore Orioles have reassigned their top prospect to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides on Friday, with outfielder Ryan McKenna being recalled in his place.

Jackson Holliday is going back to Triple-A

At 20 years old, Jackson Holliday, the first overall pick of the 2022 MLB Amateur Draft, earned his debut call-up on April 9th.

However, he has encountered difficulties in the majors. Over 10 games and 34 at-bats, Holliday managed just two hits and one RBI, striking out 18 times while drawing only two walks, resulting in an abysmal .059 batting AVG and an On-Base-Percentage of .111.

He has been swinging and missing way to much on hittable pitches in the zone and clearly looks uncomfortable at the plate. He needs to go down, find his approach and continue to dominate so he can come back with the confidence needed to excel.
