Rival executives who have expressed interest in #Mets 1B Pete Alonso are “convinced” Alonso won't be traded so long as NYM are within five games of the final wild-card spot, per @BNightengale

As it stands right now, they are on pace to be at that suggested bench mark, as well as the team is only 1 game back of .500 on the season.

This has put a major damper on teams gunning for the slugging 1st baseman, the Jays included.
