Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly did not hold back in a recent interview stating that the World Series was a complete mismatch and that the New York Yankees did not deserve to be there.
The Dodgers did end up blowing out the Yankees in 5 games and basically ripped them apart as they where barely showed up to play apart from game 1 which went into extra innings and game 4 which they won.
Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly states the World Series were a complete mismatch
After winning the World Series, Kelly stated in an interview on the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast that the series was a complete mismatch from the beginning and that if the playoffs teams were ranked, the Yankees would end up being 8th or 9th.
"It was just a mismatch from the get-go," Kelly said on the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast. "If we had a playoff re-ranking, they might be ranked the eighth or ninth-best playoff team, you know what I mean? You're putting the Padres ahead of them, you're putting the Phillies ahead of them, you're putting the Mets ahead of them, you're putting the Braves ahead of them."
"It was just a complete mismatch," he added.
Kelly was kept out of the playoffs due to a shoulder injury but clearly played close attention to every game and stated that the Padres, Phillies, Mets and Braves were all better teams.

This interview is surely to set off Yankees fans even though it is hard to argue what Kelly said since the World Series was done in 5 games.
