Anthony Santander has been out of the Toronto Blue Jays lineup for a few months now and finally spoke to Arden Zwelling yesterday on what he has been going through.

The Blue Jays announced yesterday that Santander will be joining the team in New York this weekend before headed to the Buffalo Bisons to start his rehab assignment on Tuesday.

Anthony Santander finally speaks on his on going shoulder injury

Santander spoke with Zwelling yesterday about his shoulder injury stating that he originally thought he would be out for 3-4 weeks but the injury ended up being much worse than he thought.
Anthony Santander caught up with me and

pre-game - he says his shoulder injury turned out to be much worse than he expected it to be when he initially went on IL.

He thought he'd be out for only 3-4 weeks. He's now missed over three months.
The Blue Jays outfielder added that he played with a lot of inflammation for a few weeks where he had a hard time swinging in May before heading to IL.
Santander feels that playing through discomfort for 2-3 weeks after suffering the injury in early May made his recovery more challenging:

"The shoulder was really, really bad. I had a lot of inflammation. ... It's tough to start to swing when there's so much inflammation."
Santander finished by saying that his shoulder is still not 100%, stating that swinging from the left side is back to normal but that he is still struggling to swing on the left.
Santander says "the shoulder is not 100 per cent yet to swing from the right side. But left-handed is really good."

Hope is he'll get his right-handed swing strong enough to compete by Tuesday when he could begin a rehab assignment with triple-A Buffalo.
If Santander is able to be ready for playoff time, that gives him a full month to prepare which would be a great addition for the Blue Jays.
