Expected pitching matchup for series between the Blue Jays and Dodgers announced
As the Blue Jays now get ready for the World Series start on Friday night, they will need to put together their roster for the series by Friday morning but there is a good chance it is the exact same as the roster from the ALCS.
When it comes to pitchers, the Blue Jays will likely have the exact same rotation as well as bullpen for the series.
For game 1 on Friday night, Trey Yesavage is expected to get the start for Toronto while Blake Snell will likely be on the mound for the Dodgers.
After that, most expect Kevin Gausman to get the start for game 2 followed by Shane Bieber for game 3 and Max Scherzer for game 4.
So we're looking at:
Game 1: Snell vs. Yesavage
Game 2: Yamamoto vs. Gausman
Game 3: Glasnow vs. Bieber
Game 4: Ohtani vs. Scherzer
Game 5: Snell vs. Yesavage
Game 6: Yamamoto vs. Gausman
Game 7: Glasnow vs. Bieber
Game 1: Snell vs. Yesavage
Game 2: Yamamoto vs. Gausman
Game 3: Glasnow vs. Bieber
Game 4: Ohtani vs. Scherzer
Game 5: Snell vs. Yesavage
Game 6: Yamamoto vs. Gausman
Game 7: Glasnow vs. Bieber
After that, if the series goes past 4 games, the rotation will restart with only Scherzer expected to only pitch once in the series.

The starting pitching matchup is not even remotely close

The only debate here for the Blue Jays is figuring out if they rather have Bieber pitch two games over Scherzer if the series goes the full 7 as Bieber struggled in his last appearance against the Mariners while Scherzer was phenomenal.
While the Blue Jays have yet to confirm their game 1 starter, it is almost a gurantee that Yesavage will get the ball.
