The Toronto Blue Jays still seem to have hope for top pitcher prospect Ricky Tiedemann who was just remove from 60 day IL.
The Blue Jays are currently looking for options for their starting rotation with both Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt expected to leave this winter.
Ricky Tiedemann might finally be ready for the MLB
Tiedemann missed the entire 2025 season due to Tommy John surgery and was finally taken off 60 day IL this past week as he looks to get ready for Spring Training.
Despite missing the 2025 season, Tiedemann is still considered on of the Blue Jays top prospects due to how well he pitched during his first two season in the minors.
Ranked as Toronto's No. 4 prospect, the left-hander flashed ridiculous strikeout stuff early in his career when he rung up 199 batters across 122 2/3 innings pitched during his first two professional seasons down on the farm. -Wakai
Tiedemann missed a portion of the 2024 season as he finished with a 5.19 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched across 3 leagues but there are some seriously big hopes for him this upcoming season.
Some believed that the Blue Jays should just cut him loose but if the surgery has fixed his major issues, the Blue Jays could be sitting on an all-star pitcher.
MLB insider Keegan Matheson even stated that Tiedemann could end up being a big piece for the Blue Jays in the near future depending on how he does coming back from surgery.
Count Matheson as someone who is keeping an eye on Tiedemann, as the insider gave the lefty some praise by stating, "The 23-year-old is gifted, and while building up as a starter will take time again, he could make a near-immediate impact in a shorter role." -Matheson
While the Blue Jays might not end up keeping a rotation spot open just for him with so much uncertainty as he still has a lot left to prove, it could be huge for the Blue Jays future.
