Blue Jays announce that starting pitcher Jose Berrios will get some extra days of rest #bluejays #mlb

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they will be making so changes to their starting rotation over the next two series which involves Jose Berrios.

The last time around, the Blue Jays announced that Eric Lauer was moved to the bullpen for the series against the Miami Marlins but stated that it would not be permanent as he has already returned to the starting rotation.

Blue Jays announce change to their starting rotation for upcoming series

The Blue Jays have a day off today followed by the start of their series against the Milwaukee Brewers with Shane Bieber on the mound as he will make his first start in front of Toronto fans.
The starting rotation for the series against the Brewers and Cinncinati Reds have been announced and Jose Berrios will not be pitching as he will be given some extra rest time and will return to the rotation at the end of the Reds series.
The #BlueJays are reshuffling the rotation. It's now:

Fri: Bieber vs MIL
Sat: Gausman vs MIL
Sun: Scherzer vs MIL
Mon: Bassitt vs CIN
Tues: Berrios vs CIN

Gets Berrios some extra rest and lines Bieber/Gausman/Scherzer up for New York next weekend

Many fans have mentioned how Berrios "Ironman" streak might be one of the reasons for his slump lately as he clearly needs a break after pitching so much over the last few seasons.
Hopefully the Blue Jays will be able to give him so extra rest days like this a few more times before the playoffs.
