Blue Jays broadcaster Jamie Campbell pays tribute to former Maple Leaf and friend who passed away at 67
Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster and host of Blue Jays Central Jamie Campbell posted a heartfelt message for his friend and former Toronto Maple Leafs player Mark Kirton who passed away from a battle with ALS.
Campbell recently made headlines when he made an announcement regarding his fundraiser for First Nation student in which he took pictures with fans and donated all the profits.

The Maple Leafs announced on social media late last night that Kirton passed away surrounded by family and friends in Oakville, Ontario after a long battle with ALS over the last few years.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Mark Kirton following a battle with ALS.
Mark made his NHL debut with the blue and white and would go on to spend 8 seasons in the NHL. In 2018, he was diagnosed with ALS and in 2020 he founded ALS Action Canada with PALS (Patients with ALS), a patient-led initiative to find a cure. The Leafs Alumni Association were proud to name Mark a recent recipient of the Carl Brewer Memorial award in recognition of his work.

Campbell took to social media this morning to post a heartfelt message to his friend stating that he was a warrior and an inspiration with his dedication to being an advocate for ALS.
Kirton played for the Maple Leafs during the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings where he spent the next few seasons before returning to Canada to play for the Vancouver Canucks.
