As the Toronto Blue Jays continue their strong push towards the postseason, a recent report suggests that the Jays are interested in trading for Boston Red Sox's All-Star reliever Aroldis Chapman.
The Blue Jays are currently the hottest team in the MLB, having surged ahead to claim a two-game lead over the New York Yankees atop the AL East.

Nick Radosevich from The Sporting News writes that Toronto is riding a six-game winning streak and has come out on top in eight of its last 10 games. Following a series loss to the Chicago White Sox, the Blue Jays caught fire, capped off by a sweep of the Yankees, who were leading the division at the time.
"FanSided's Christopher Kline suggested three players that would help Toronto win the AL East for the first time in a decade, including a dominant closer. Boston Red Sox reliever Aroldis Chapman has aged like fine wine and should be the best reliever on the table at the trade deadline." -Radosevich
At 37 years old, Chapman is a seven-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion. He's been dominant this season, holding a 3-2 record with an impressive 1.29 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP across 38 appearances.
«If the Red Sox keep slipping out of contention, there's no reason not to trade a 37-year-old Aroldis Chapman midway through a one-year contract. Chapman and Hoffman give Toronto power-throwing relievers - one southpaw, one righty - to anchor the back of the bullpen and preserve leads in late-inning situations.» -Kline
Bringing in a shutdown reliever like Chapman could give the Blue Jays the boost they need to secure the divison crown and make a serious push in the postseason.
