The Toronto Blue Jays shuffled their pitching staff again this morning, recalling left-hander Brendon Little and right-hander Lazaro Estrada from Triple-A.
To make room, Toronto optioned left-hander Adam Macko and right-hander CJ Van Eyk back down to the minors.
That's a quick turnaround for Van Eyk, who was just called up before the break and barely had time to make an impression at the big league level.
Little returns to a bullpen role after a rough big league stretch of his own, carrying a 27.00 ERA across six appearances and just 4.2 innings this season.
Those numbers explain part of why he'd been optioned in the first place, and a trip back to Triple-A gave him a chance to reset before this recall.
Estrada, meanwhile, has looked sharper in his limited look, posting a 2.84 ERA across two appearances and 6.1 innings, with three strikeouts against four walks.
Macko leaves the active roster with a 4.34 ERA over 18 appearances, solid enough work that likely keeps him in the mix for a return before long.

Why this shuffle says plenty about Toronto's bullpen churn
Roster moves like this one have become routine for Toronto this season, a bullpen that's needed constant tinkering just to find any real stability.
Little's rough numbers make him a bit of a reclamation project at this point, someone the coaching staff clearly still believes in despite the results so far.
It's a bit like rotating players in and out of a lineup that just can't settle on its best combination, hoping the next mix finally clicks.
Does recalling a pitcher with a 27.00 ERA actually signal confidence in Little, or is this simply about roster necessity more than performance trust?
Toronto continues its series against the White Sox with a bullpen that's looked different practically every week this season.
Whether these latest additions provide any real stability remains to be seen, the same question that's followed this pitching staff all year.
Do you trust Brendon Little to turn things around after his rough start to the season?
