The Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins told reporters yesterday that Shane Bieber is still dealing with some injury issues and the cause has finally been revealed.
Atkins told reporters that despite Bieber playing out the rest of the season from September on, he was dealing with some issues that he did not elaborate on.

During the press conference, Atkins sated that despite Bieber recovering from an injury, the team expects him to be ready in time for Opening Day next March but there was still some worries when he added that he is week to week.
According to reports, Bieber has been dealing with forearm fatigue since the end of the 2025 season which he pushed through for the playoffs.

There has been no details on if this injury is the reason Bieber decided to accept his player option but it looks like it could have certainly played a role.

Hopefully this is nothing serious but with Bieber coming back from Tommy John surgery just last year, all injuries for him are certainly at least a tad worrisome.
The Blue Jays front office does not seem to worried for the time being but that is certainly subject to change over the next few months.
