The trade deadline is rapidly approaching and it seems like catcher Danny Jansen is on his way out of Toronto.

The Blue Jays will be able to get a solid return for Jansen since he has been having a solid season and with his contract expiring yet no talk of an extension, it would make no sense to hold onto him.
If Jansen is traded, the Blue Jays seem to have a star catcher ready to make the jump to the Majors. Most would think Brian Serven would replace Jansen but he has struggled quite a bit in the few games he has seen this season in the MLB.
Bisons catcher Phil Clarke seems to be next in line to replace Jansen as he has been great in Triple-A this season with a .306 batting average, .798 OPS and 16 RBIs in 43 games. Clarke started off in Single-A 3 years ago and has be climbing through the ranks ever year since, letting his game do the talking.
So instead, a potential dark horse is emerging in the organization in prospect Phil Clarke. Clarke was selected in the ninth round out of Vanderbilt University by the Blue Jays back in the 2019 MLB Draft. Despite not being ranked in the Jays' top 30 prospects in the system, he has quietly made steady progress the past few seasons. In doing so, he has moved from Single-A all the way up to now with Triple-A Buffalo Bisons in a span of three years.- Eng

While Clarke might not be able to step into Jansen's shoes right away, this might be a great move for the Blue Jays future.
